A rough idle, poor cold starting or a rich-running engine often comes down to fuel metering – either in the carburetor on the early cars or in the mass air flow sensor on the injected ones. Here the engine and model year decide what fits: early B20/B19/B21 run SU or CD175, while B23/B230 and V6 B27 meter fuel via the mass air flow sensor in the K-Jetronic system.
