Stiff O-rings and dry seals around the mass air flow sensor can let in false air, which is a common checkpoint with rough idle or hard cold starts on the V6 cars. The mass air flow sensor measures the intake air volume in the fuel system, and when rebuilding it is usually the seals and the small adjusting parts that need to be looked over.
