Volvo 140/164 Brake system
Sticking brake calipers, a master brake cylinder that sinks away under pedal pressure or rusty brake pipes are classic complaints on the 140 and 164. From the start these cars came with dual-circuit brakes and front disc brakes as standard, while the four-cylinder 140 models have drum brakes at the rear – which determines the parts you need. On the 164 there are disc brakes all round, and a brake servo was fitted on several versions.
