Rusty brake lines, a leaking master brake cylinder or a stiff hand brake are classic jobs on the 444, 544 and 445. Most cars still run hydraulic drum brakes all round, and on the early single-circuit systems a single leak means the entire brake pressure disappears – all the more reason to keep pipes, cylinders and hoses in order.
