Clunking universal joints, leaking gearbox seals and a sloppy gear lever are among the most common signs of a worn driveline on the 240/260. The rear-wheel drive with longitudinally mounted motor sends power through the clutch, gearbox and propeller shaft out to the rear axle, and every link in the chain has its own wear points. On the manual gearboxes, the type – M40, M45, M46 with overdrive or the later M47 – determines which parts fit, so check the version before you order.
