Volvo 1800 Fuel/Exhaust system
A rough idle, hard cold starts or the smell of gas under the car usually lead back to the fuel and exhaust side. On the 1800, twin SU carburettors sat on the B18, while the injected B20E ran Bosch D-Jetronic – two completely different systems that determine which parts fit. Stromberg carburettors, HS6 rebuild kits, fuel tank with vent hoses, air filter and the manifold are typical checkpoints when the engine needs to breathe clean again.
