A worn throttle shaft and worn-out bushings cause air leaks, uneven idle and a hard-to-adjust mixture – a classic problem on the SU carburettors for the Volvo 240 with B19 and B21 engines. This category gathers the wear parts that belong to a refurbishment of exactly these carburettors, so that shaft play and adjustability are restored.

The group includes shutter shafts and bushings, return springs and adjusting screws, plus smaller fasteners such as screw, nut and washer. During a rebuild, the play in the throttle shaft and the tension of the return spring are typical checkpoints – a tired spring causes hanging revs, while worn bushings mean the idle adjustment never settles. The adjusting screws are used to fine-tune mixture and idle after the shaft and seals have been replaced. Since the B19 and B21 in the 240 series come in several versions, it pays to check the version and carburetor type before selecting parts.
