Rough idle, poor cold starting or a rich running condition often comes down to a worn metering needle, a tired diaphragm or leaking O-rings in the Stromberg CD175 (175 CD-2). On the Volvo 240 with the B19 and B21 motor, the carburetor is a recurring rebuild point, and the wear shows up as sooty spark plugs and an idle that is hard to set.
