During a full rebuild of the B30, the entire rotating assembly is replaced at the same time – worn cylinders, loose rod bearings and hardened seals show up as oil leaks and dropping compression. This category gathers the parts that belong to the crank assembly on the straight-six in the Volvo 164 up to 1973, an engine that is otherwise known for lasting a long time without major problems.

The group includes piston sets and piston ring sets for rebored cylinders, rod bearings for new main bearings and connecting rod bearings, a timing gear set for the timing chain drive, plus seals at the front and rear of the crankshaft. Also belonging here are the support plate, hub and screw needed during assembly.
A common check point during disassembly is to measure the wear on the crank journals before bearing size is selected, so the correct undersize is ordered when the shaft is ground.
