A leak in the early single-circuit cylinder meant total pressure loss and brake failure – that is exactly the weakness this dual-circuit solution from Wagner addresses on the B18 cars. The circuit split lets a front or rear circuit retain braking action even if the other springs a leak, which is clearly noticeable when restoring an older 1800 still running with the original system.

During the swap, leakage around the connectors, a worn piston seal and corroded brake pipe threads are typical inspection points – the copper washers are single-use parts and should always be replaced when disconnected.
