Brake master cylinder Volvo 1800, 140, 164 (Amazon B20 right-hand drive only) (ATE)

A pedal that slowly sinks toward the floor, or brake fluid dripping behind the servo, are classic signs that the master brake cylinder is starting to leak past the seals. This category gathers parts for the 140 with fuel-injected B20E/F from 1973-74, where the dual-circuit brake requires the cylinder to hold pressure in both circuits.

The group includes master brake cylinders, brake fluid reservoirs with cap and strainer, connecting hose, and nuts for mounting. Plastilube and grease belong to the sealing and mounting work. When rebuilding, it's worth checking the reservoir's rubber grommets and the strainer's condition at the same time as the cylinder is replaced – cracks there let air and dirt into the system. Since the 140 had a dual-circuit brake and front disc brakes as standard, pedal feel and pressure build-up depend directly on the master cylinder being tight.
