This group includes brake pipes and ready-made brake pipe kits, brake hoses and brake hose kits, nipples, and clamps for securing the pipes along the underbody. For installation there is also plastilube and grease that counteracts seizing in threads and joints. The families cover both front and rear so the whole system can be redone in one go.
During a rebuild, a typical checkpoint is to inspect the inside of the hoses – a hose that looks intact can be swollen internally and act as a check valve, which causes the brakes to drag. In that case, replace the entire hose kit rather than individual parts.
