During a bottom-end rebuild, the main bearing set and rod bearings are the natural starting points, often together with a piston set and piston ring set when the cylinder bores have been rebored. The group also includes a cam gear set to address chain rattle, plus seals and bolt kits that belong to the assembly. A good check point is to measure the crank journal wear before choosing the bearing undersize – that determines which set fits.
Keep in mind that the B20E with Bosch D-Jetronic and the carburetor versions share much of the bottom end, but always verify the spec against your engine.
