Gearbox Volvo PV/Duett (M40)
Oil dripping under the box, howling bearings in the higher gears, or a worn mount causing vibration – these are the classic signs that the M40 gearbox in a 544 or 445 is getting tired. Once it's apart, it's worth replacing the seals and bearings in one go while everything is on the bench anyway.
