Volvo PV/Duett Generator DC
Weak charging, a charging control lamp that glows at idle, or completely dead power are classic signs of a tired generator or a worn voltage regulator. On the 544 and 445, charging relies on a generator controlled by a relay and governor, and which version fits is determined by the engine and electrical system – early cars run on 6 volts while the B18 from 1961 is a 12-volt system.
