This group includes brake drums, complete mounting kits, return springs, thrust pins, retainers, spring washers, rubber caps and grease – parts that go together during a proper overhaul of the front brake. With the drum off anyway, it pays to replace the return springs and spring washers at the same time, since tired springs keep the shoes from releasing cleanly and cause dragging brakes. Rubber caps and grease are among the cheap items that are often forgotten but determine how long the rebuild lasts.
These parts are gathered for the 544 with B18 motor and fit the front drum brake configuration on 1962–66 cars.
