Front wheel brake Volvo 1800 (2-Circuit) (B20)
Warped discs, a pulsating brake pedal and sluggish return at the caliper are classic wear points on an 1800 with the B20 and dual-circuit brakes – which is exactly why it pays to overhaul the front end properly. The dual-circuit system arrived on the 1800S from model year 1969 alongside the B20 engine, giving a different layout than the earliest single-circuit cars.

This group covers brake discs and brake pads that together determine brake feel and stopping distance, brake calipers and splash guards, plus brake hoses that grow brittle on the inside over the years and can cause a dragging wheel. Add to this mounting kits, screws and brake grease for lubricating guide pins and contact surfaces during assembly.
When overhauling the front brakes it is worth checking the inside of the hoses, the caliper pistons and the disc thickness at the same time – if the pads wear unevenly it is often a sticking guide pin or a collapsed hose behind it.
