A pedal that slowly sinks toward the floor at a standstill, or uneven braking, usually points to leaking seals in the master brake cylinder. On the 1800 with B20, the two-circuit system arrived from model year 1969 (chassis #28300), meaning that a failure in one circuit still leaves braking on the other – an important difference from the earlier single-circuit cars.

This group includes complete master brake cylinders, repair kits with pistons and sleeves, plus O-rings, washers, nuts and a strainer for the reservoir. Plastilube and brake grease belong here at assembly and help the rubber parts slide into place without damage.
When rebuilding the brake system it is worth checking the cylinder bore carefully – if it is scored or pitted, a fresh seal kit will not last long, and replacing the whole cylinder is the safer route.
