The group includes lock washers, spring and copper washers, O-rings, screws, a back-up lamp switch and bushings. Once the cover is off anyway, the O-ring and copper washers are typical checkpoints – dry or deformed seals are often the cause of sweating around the cover flange. Also check the back-up lamp switch, which over the years can give poor contact. Since the 140/164 came with both the M40 without overdrive and the M41 with Laycock overdrive, you should compare the cover design against your box before installation.
