Gear box mountings Volvo 140/164 BW35
A sagging transmission mount and worn rubber bushings show up as vibration and rattle in the driveline, especially during shifting and under heavier load. On the 140/164 with the BW35 automatic, the rear suspension of the box is held in place with mounting bolts and a lock brace, and over the years the rubber dries out and the bolted joints rust.

This group includes parts for exactly this suspension: bushings, lock brace, screw, nut, washer and spring washer, plus the O-ring and fuel hose that belong to the assembly. A typical check point during a rebuild is making sure the rubber bushing has not cracked or settled – if the box sinks in its anchorage it changes the angle of the driveshaft and loads the bearings. Replace the screw, nut and spring washer at the same time so you get the right torque and avoid loosening joints.
The parts are grouped by function to fit the BW35 box in the 140/164 without unnecessary searching.
