For this job, common parts are ball bearings and rollers, seals and O-rings, gaskets, companion flanges, washers and screws. Seals and O-rings are typical checkpoints since they control the oil pressure in the overdrive – if they leak, the unit loses both pressure and engagement. The bearings are checked for play and noise while the gearbox is apart anyway, and new gaskets are required at every reassembly to keep the oil on the right side.
