When rebuilding, the distributor's shaft play and the rotor arm's condition are typical checkpoints – along with the ignition cables' insulation, which cracks over the years and causes arcing in damp weather. The B20 engine is a four-cylinder OHV, and many choose a breakerless or 123 distributor for a more stable spark. The spark plugs are best replaced at the same time as the cables and rotor arm for a complete result.
