This group includes parts for sealing and assembling the block: freeze plugs and plugs, gaskets and cover washers, soot cleaning kits, plus screws and hexagon screws. Completion kits often gather the small details that are easily forgotten when a block is taken apart.
During a rebuild, the freeze plugs are an obvious check point since they sit out of sight and are rarely replaced until they are already leaking. Replacing them while the block is exposed anyway saves a later disassembly job.
