Exhaust system Volvo 240 (B21FT)
Rusted-through pipe sections, leaking flange joints and seized studs are classic wear points on the exhaust system behind a turbocharged B21FT. The extra heat and exhaust pressure wear harder on joints and mounts than on a naturally aspirated motor, so when replacing it pays to renew the entire mounting hardware at the same time as the pipes.

This category gathers parts for the complete exhaust system on the Volvo 240 with the B21FT motor. The group includes the exhaust system and three-way catalytic converter together with mounting parts such as the stud, hexagon screw, nut, lock nut, washer and bracket. During removal, rusted bolted joints are often cut off, and new studs and lock nuts let the joints be tightened properly without leaking. The bracket holds the system in place so the pipes do not knock against the underbody or stress the flanges.
Always check the rubber mounts and the seating of the flange gaskets at the same time – a worn mounting causes vibrations that crack weld joints prematurely.
