Rusted-through mufflers and porous pipe joints are among the most common reasons the entire exhaust line needs to be inspected on a 240 with the fuel-injected B21F motor. Heat, road salt and condensation wear hardest at joints and weld seams, and a leak just after the manifold is often noticeable as a droning noise and an altered sound.
