Rusted-through mufflers, a cracked seam at a weld joint or a rubber anchorage that has given way and lets the pipe knock against the floor – these are the classic wear points on the exhaust side once a turbocharged 240 has been driven hard for many miles. The heat and vibrations from the B19ET and B21ET put extra strain on the suspension, so it pays to check anchorages and brackets at the same time as you replace a pipe.

The group includes mufflers and exhaust pipes together with brackets and anchorages that hold the system in place, plus the mounting kit of hexagon screw, stud, washer and lock nut needed at the joints. While you are under the car anyway, the rubber anchorages and flange joints are the natural check points – new anchorages prevent vibrations from travelling into the cabin and cracking the next joint prematurely.
The parts are intended for the turbo version of the 240, so the routing and connections differ from the naturally aspirated engines' system.
