Rough idle, misfires in damp conditions or sluggish cold starts often begin on the ignition side of the B200K and B230A. Cracks in the distributor cap and aged ignition cables cause arcing that shows up especially in cold, damp weather – a classic troubleshooting point on the 240 engines.

The families cover both contact components and mounting components, so a complete ignition service can be planned in one go.
During a rebuild it is worth checking the inside of the cap for carbon tracking, measuring the resistance of the ignition cables and replacing the spark plugs as a baseline before chasing deeper faults. The B200K and B230A differ in details, so the engine code determines which distributor cap and which ignition module fit.
