A weeping cylinder head gasket, seeping freeze plugs, or a valve cover that no longer seals against oil mist are classic signs that the cylinder head needs attention on a B18 engine. On the 1800 (B18B, 1,778 cc with twin SU carburettors), these parts are exposed to heat cycles year after year, and an old gasket goes hard and starts to leak at the mating face or along the cover.
