Fuel pump Volvo 140 (B18A)
Weak feed when the engine is hot or a fuel smell at the pump can point to a worn diaphragm or a leaking gasket on the mechanical fuel pump. On the carbureted B18A in early 140s, the pump sits against the engine block and is driven by the camshaft, so the spacer washer thickness affects the stroke length and should be checked when replacing.
