Grommets Volvo PV/Duett
Cracked, hardened rubber in the holes of the cowl and floor is a classic 544 problem – where cables, control cables and pipes pass through the plate, water, exhaust and dust all get in once the grommets have dried out. Replacing them is one of the cheapest yet most rewarding jobs in a restoration, since they both seal and protect the wiring from chafing against the sharp plate edge.
