Knocking noises from the valve casing, loose valve clearances or rough idle on a B18 are often caused by worn parts in the valve train. On the overhead-valve OHV motor (1,778 cc, from August 1961) power is transmitted via push rods and rocker arms, and the camshaft, springs and gear all affect how cleanly the motor breathes and revs up.

This category gathers parts for the B18 motor's valve mechanism. The group includes a camshaft kit and gear set for the cam drive, valve springs with washer and thrust flange for the valves' return, plus push rods, screw and hat plug when reconditioning the cylinder head and guide. During an overhaul, worn cam lobes, tired valve springs and play in the cam gear are typical check points – replacing them together makes compression more even and the idle more stable. Note that the correct components follow the motor variant, so check the parts against your B18 before fitting.
