Brake lines/Accessories Volvo 850 -1995

Rust-attacked brake pipes at the rear axle, cracks in the rubber of an aged brake hose, or a spongy pedal are common inspection points on the 850 up to 1995. Since all 850s have disc brakes all around according to club data, the hoses sit exposed at the wheel housings and are worth checking at every wheel change.

Keep in mind that brake fluid must be DOT 4+ (DOT 5.1 glycol works; DOT 5 silicone is prohibited). When replacing a hose or pipe, it's a good opportunity to bleed in the sequence left rear, right rear, right front, left front.
