When overhauling or replacing the turbo, it is often precisely these parts that need to be changed at the same time – old striker plates break, copper washers flatten out and seal less well, and the coolant pipes may have begun to rust at the connections. Freshening up the mounting with new striker plates and nuts reduces the risk of exhaust leaks and loosening flanges after installation.
