Volvo 140 Generator DC
Weak charging, a charging control lamp that fades out, or sluggish starting on an early 140 with B18 often traces back to the DC generator. These dynamos wear on the brushes and commutator, and on well-used examples this shows up as uneven voltage and a discharged battery. Everything here applies to the 140 Series 12V system – there is no 6V on these cars.
