Generator mounting details Volvo 140 (B18A/B18B)

Weak charging, a glowing charging control lamp or a generator that wobbles in its anchorage can point to worn bushings and a tired tensioner rather than the generator itself. On the 140 with B18A and B18B, the generator sits in an anchorage where belt tension is set via the tensioner – if the sleeves and bushings are worn out, the belt becomes hard to keep taut and the charging uneven.
