Fuel pump Volvo PV/Duett B18/B20
Lost power on an uphill climb, delayed starting on a hot engine or a smell of gas in the engine bay are classic signs of a tired fuel pump on the B18 and B20. The mechanical fuel pump is driven by the camshaft and over time wears out the diaphragm and valves, which lowers the feed pressure to the carburetor.

The group includes complete fuel pumps, repair kits with diaphragm and valves, gaskets against the block, fuel hose, elbow nipple, copper washers and spring washers, plus the screw for the mounting.
When rebuilding it is worth replacing the gasket and copper washers at the same time as the pump is refitted, so that no leaks occur at the flange or the connections. Also check that the push rod against the camshaft is not worn before fitting a new pump.
