Choke Volvo Amazon (B18A)
A binding or worn choke cable often shows up as a rich cold start, uneven warm-up, or a choke control that won't hold its position on the 122 with the carbureted B18A. Since the B18A from August 1961 is single-carburetor, the cold-start enrichment is controlled mechanically via the control on the instrument panel – so an intact and correctly routed cable is a common point to check.
