Worn valve guides that draw oil, blue smoke from the exhaust when the engine is warm, and leaking valve seals are among the most common reasons to go into the valve mechanism on a B20. This category gathers the parts that control filling and sealing in the head on the 122 with B20A, B20B and B20D – the engines that arrived in August 1968 for the last two model years.

The group includes camshaft kits, inlet valves and exhaust valves, valve guides, washers, push rods, camshaft gear sets and thrust flanges. During a top overhaul it is typical to measure valve clearance against the guide, check seat surfaces and replace push rods that have become bent. A worn camshaft and a tired timing gear give an uneven idle and weak pulling power, so they are often checked at the same time. Note that the B20B is the sharper variant with higher output – check the version against your engine before ordering parts.
