When doing panel work on a 122, a common checkpoint is how much original plate remains around the mounting points – if the seam is corroded, both sand plate and repair plate are often needed to get a solid welding position. The weld primer is applied to clean surfaces before the parts are joined, so the inner plate is protected where you can't reach afterwards.
