Exhaust system Volvo 760/780 (B280F)
Rusty joints, sagging rubber hangers and an exhaust part that starts rattling against the floor are the classic symptoms on the 760/780 with the V6 B280F engine. When the mounting gives way the pipe hangs crooked and loads both flanges and seals – so the mounts and gaskets are the first things to check.

This category gathers the parts that keep the system in place and sealed. The group includes clamps and hangers for the mounting, seal rings for the joints, plus lock nuts, hex nuts, washers and wave washers for the flange connections. There are also plugs for the connections.
A typical check point during a restoration is to replace the seal ring and all the nuts at the same time – rusted-on fasteners can rarely be reused without damaging the thread or flange. The wave washer keeps tension in the connection and prevents the nut from loosening under the vibrations from the V6.
