This group includes exhaust valves and inlet valves, valve guides and valve seats, valve spring washers, studs and belt covers. Valve adjustment shims are available in various thicknesses so the valve clearance can be set exactly after lapping – a step that is decisive for smooth idle and compression on an OHC four like the B230, where the camshaft is driven via a timing gear and timing belt. The parts apply to the B230 without K version fitted in the 740, 760 and 780, and should always be checked against the engine's specification before lapping and assembly.
