Dropping oil pressure at warm idle and oil leaks around the pump and pipes are the most common reasons for digging into the lubricating system on a B19. This category gathers lubricating system parts for the four-cylinder B19 engine in the 740 and 760 series. The group includes oil pumps, oil filters, pressure pipes and tubes, gaskets and grommets, screws, and the dipstick. During a pump rebuild it is typical to replace the gasket and check the pressure pipe and its connections at the same time, so that no new leak appears after installation.
Keep in mind that seals and grommets dry out and shrink over the years – better to replace them during the job than to risk a return trip to the lift. The dipstick is also easy to overlook once it becomes worn.
