The group includes cylinder head gaskets and complete gasket sets, cylinder head bolts and studs for fastening, plus smaller sealing details such as hat plugs, plugs and hoses around the head. Lifting eyes also belong here and make it easier to lift the cylinder head off without damaging the threaded holes.
A common checkpoint during an overhaul is to always replace the cylinder head bolts and gasket at the same time – worn threads and stretched bolts give uneven torque and fresh leaks. Measure the flatness of the head before installation and clean all sealing surfaces thoroughly.
