Oily or cracked Air Charge Hoses are a common wear point on turbocharged 700 models with B204GT – they become hard from heat and pressure, and a leak in the system can point to pressure loss, poorer gas response and higher consumption. When inspecting the charge air cooler, hose connections, clamps and pipe grommets should be gone over carefully, since even small leaks reduce boost pressure.
