The plastic in the tank becomes brittle over the years and starts to weep at the seams, while the hoses lose their elasticity and crack internally – often unnoticed until the pressure drops.

The group includes the expansion tank, radiator cap, radiator hoses and other hoses, hose clamps, nipples as well as the shield plate and rubber pads that hold the system in place. During a cooling system rebuild it is worth checking the radiator cap's pressure retention and all the hose clamps at the same time as the hoses are replaced – an old clamp that gives way quickly renders a new tank pointless. The parts are aimed at the D24 engines in the 700 series, so that the correct hose routing and connections fit.
