Fuel tank Volvo 240/260 (1978-)
Rust damage along the bottom edge of the tank, a fuel smell in the cabin, or a plug that drips at the sensor are classic reasons to go through the fuel tank on a 240 or 260. The tank sits exposed under the rear axle and collects moisture and road salt, which means both the sheet metal itself and the seals will sooner or later need to be looked over.
