Fuel System Volvo 240/260 (B27F/B28F) (1979-)

Poor cold starts, rough idle and a smell of gas under the hood are classic symptoms of an aged K-Jetronic system on the B27F and B28F V6 engines. Over time the rubber hoses harden, O-rings and copper washers lose their sealing ability and sensors start to send incorrect values – all of which affect the mixture and operating reliability.

The selection covers the parts around fuel supply and control on these 2.7- and 2.8-litre V6 engines: hoses, copper washers, O-rings, T-nipple, valves and gaskets along with temperature sensors and a lambda sensor. During a rebuild, copper washers and O-rings in particular are typical checkpoints – always replace them when removing fuel connections so the joints seal against new material and don't start to weep afterwards. A tired temperature sensor or lambda sensor often gives a rich mixture and higher consumption, and is therefore among the first things to measure when troubleshooting mixture problems.

Because the 240/260 came with both four-cylinder engines and a V6, the engine code determines which parts fit – check B27F/B28F against the engine number before ordering.
