Cracked rubber mounts, rusty joints and absorbers that start to rattle against the underbody are among the most common reasons to look over the exhaust side of a 140 with the B20A, model year 1974. On cars with the Stromberg CD 175 carburetor and a single exhaust flow, the intermediate pipe and absorbers hang in anchorages and brackets that soften over the years – check them at the same time as you replace the pipes.
