Exhaust system Volvo 140 (B20A) (1974)

Cracked rubber mounts, rusty joints and absorbers that start to rattle against the underbody are among the most common reasons to look over the exhaust side of a 140 with the B20A, model year 1974. On cars with the Stromberg CD 175 carburetor and a single exhaust flow, the intermediate pipe and absorbers hang in anchorages and brackets that soften over the years – check them at the same time as you replace the pipes.

This category gathers parts for the exhaust side: intermediate pipe, absorbers, anchorages and brackets together with clamps as well as nut, washer and screw for the assembly. When replacing, it pays to renew the entire suspension at once; new rubbers and fresh clamps prevent vibrations from travelling into the cabin and the pipes from chafing against the body. Also check the flange's sealing surface against the manifold so the joint stays tight.
