Horn Volvo 140 (1973-74)
A horn that has gone silent or only gives a weak click doesn't necessarily mean the horn itself is broken – often it's worn carbon brushes, a loose contact frame, or a tired spring in the steering wheel hub that interrupts the current. On the 140 from 1973-74, the current is transferred via the contact pin and wave washer in the steering wheel, and these small parts are a common checkpoint when the horn function becomes erratic.
