A stiff key, a lock cylinder that won't return, or a tailgate that rattles and feels loose are classic wear points on the five-door 145. Here we gather the parts that keep the lock cylinder and its mechanism in the tailgate working, suited to the estate model built 1967–72.

The group includes key blanks for cutting a new key, spring kits that give the cylinder the right return action, plus links and rods that transfer the movement to the spring. For sealing and adjustment there are gaskets against moisture, washers and eccentric washers for play adjustment, plus screws for mounting. When restoring, it's worth checking that the linkage isn't binding and that the spring has enough force to push the cylinder back – otherwise the lock easily sits in a half position. On a car of this age, it's often old grease and corrosion in the cylinder housing behind the stiffness, not the key itself.
